Facebook Branding: Is It Worthy or Not?

by Eunus Hosen

“Facebook Branding” the terms you’ve heard for many times. Before talking about “Facebook Branding” I want to clear the sense of “Branding.” So, let me introduce:facebook branding

What is branding?

A brand is a name of a company or symbol (i.e. logo, icon), that is widely known as identity of the company or it’s products or services.

A well known brand is regarded as one that people will recognize, even they haven’t bought any products or services of the company.

For example: Apple () is a brand that you can identify with it’s logo, although you (might) haven’t bought any products from them.

So, in a simple word “Branding means making other people know about your company (blog), products or services.”

What does it mean by Facebook branding?

Facebook branding means making your company, products or services familiar to others on or with facebook.

It is the effective way to brand your blog. But many people argue about it. Many people out there think, “Active FB users are not interested about blog. So, this method doesn’t work .”

I’m not going to prove them false, just let me figure out the actual things about it.

They think “Active Facebook users are not interested about blog.

OK……….. Who are the active FB users?

The people who pass all day long sitting before computer and opening the FB window? They’re very busy in updating status, sharing photos, uploading videos and chatting with friends. I don’t think them active user! I just think them addicted FB user. Yes, they are addicted to facebook and they have no interest about anything without making a relationship with others. They’re doing nothing but killing their (valuable) time. In fact, they have lots of friends on facebook; even more friends  they have on than real world!

But they’ve a common behavior that they are sharing minded. I bet you if you send him a friend request, he’ll must accept your invitation although he does not know you, he will respond to any FAN page invitation. As he has many friends and has a great impact upon his friends, when his friends notice that he joined on a fan page they’ll also join on the page. He might not aware about blogs, but his friends may be interested.

Facebook is unlike Twitter:

Twitter reveal that users now send out more than 50 million tweets per day. That means every second, 600 tweets fly through Twitter’s network. – Mashable

Most of the twitter users are mass follower. So, their dashboard become overwhelmed with tweet updates. So, they miss most of the tweets that means updates. But in case of facebook you’re not missing any updates. FB users have more flexibility to share any thoughts and ideas; as there is no words or character limit like twitter. If you’re a Vlogger (Video Blogger), you can share those videos on Facebook which refers more visitors.

What do you do on facebook?

You share about what you’re doing, the funny things and also share about the things you think useful; so why not share your blog, if it is useful?

FaceBook is All About People:

Your blog visitors are human and facebook is all about People. It is the second most visited website; just after Google. About 35% of global internet users visit facebook. So your targeted visitors is not included in this 35%?
