How to Choose The Right Niche for Your Next Blog?

Are you going to launch a new blog? If so, I suggest you to take a few minutes to read this post. It will really help you to choose the right niche for your blog.

Identify Your Interests and Passions:

Yeah! It is needed first to identify your interests and passions to blog about. Don’t let other peoples to force you to start a blog on a specific topic or niche.

Take some time to brainstorm possible topics based on your own passions and interests. You may find your interest on multiple topics. Write down each topic on your notebook.

Do You’ve Experience or Expertise on The Topic?

It is the most important question to ask yourself while you’re going to choose a niche. If you’ve experience or expertise on a certain topic, it would be easy for you to continue with the niche.

I’m not going to tell that if you don’t have any experience or expertise, you can’t start blogging on the topic. But it would be so much tough to continue.

Although, after a while blogging with the niche, you’ll have some experience and then it’ll be easy for you. But most of the people who have no experience or expertise, fails within a few months of blogging.

Is The Topic Popular?

It’s another crucial question to ask yourself. You may choose a topic that you’re passionate about and can provide some great content. But if people have no interest about the topic, none will read your blog and you’ll get your blog SUCKS.

What About The Competition?

When you’re going to start a new blog on a certain topic, you’re the last man on the race. In order to make your blog successful, you must have to have the top position. So you have to undergo all the other bloggers in your niche.

Many people say that all the bloggers on the same niche are not competitor for each other, they say that they’re friend. But actually they’re all competitor on the race to get the top position.

How Wide Your Niche Is?

Don’t make your niche too narrow. If you make the niche too narrow, you’ll have less content to write on. I suggest to make your niche as widen as it is possible.

For example, you’re expert on social media and specially on Facebook. So what should be your niche; social media or Facebook?

In this case, I recommend you social media.Yeah! social media; there you can write about all the social media sites like twitter, facebook, linkedin. But If you choose facebook, you’ll get less topic to write on.

Again, the people are interested about the topic FB, might also be interested on other social media sites and these are too close. So try expanding your niche as long as it is relevant.

Is The Niche Can Be Monetized?

While you’re going to launch a niche blog, you’ll want to make money with the blog. So it is another considerable question for you. If you want to monetize the blog with affiliate products, look and search for the affiliate products. Are there enough products to be promoted?

Or if you want to monetize the blog with advertisement(s). Look that are there enough advertisers to be advertised on your blog?

How Long You’ll be Able To Write Articles on The Niche?

I recommend you to choose the niche that you’ll be able to continue at least for six months. If you can stick with a niche for six months, after the time being you’ll be  automatically getting more idea to write on your blog.

Now brainstorm again and look at your notebook. Ask all the questions above, individually on each topic and find out which topic suits best with the questions. I hope you’ll be able to choose the right niche for your blog.
